Graduation Speech High School And College - 884 Words

High school and college are both important periods in a student’s life. It’s the two most important stages in which students prepare to be professional in their studies. In high school students prepare to be successful in college. In college students prepare to be professionals in their careers. Although high school and college each serve as a place for preparation for students they are very different in scheduling, grading, and paying their education. Scheduling is one of the major differences between high school and college. In high school, counselors would pick the courses and teachers for the students based on the classes they need in order to graduate. Many times students are stuck with classes they don’t want to take but need it to graduate. In college, students are allowed to choose their own classes and teachers. Unlike in high school students have the option to choose what subjects they would like to take in order to reach the graduation requirement. Most high school have a Monday to Friday 7:20am-2:20pm schedule, meaning students have 8 hours of continuous classes a day. Within those 8 hours students only have five minutes breaks between classes and an hour of lunch. While in college students get to choose what days they want class and when to start those classes. Class time can range from fifty minute to two hours and only meet Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Tuesdays and Thursday.
